Richard Fried, MD

After obtaining his Master of Arts/Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Fried received his medical degree in 1988 from New York University School of Medicine (where he graduated AOA). He completed his internship and residency at the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA (a Harvard teaching hospital). He spent time there as Medical Chief Resident at the Brockton/West Roxbury VA Hospital. He completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Fried is currently board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell School of Medicine. He is very active in teaching at the medical school. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Fried is the Chief of Gastroenterology at Huntington Hospital, Huntington, NY, and at the Dolan Family Health Center. He is a physician partner in North Country Medical Associates along with Drs. Bermanski and Purow. He is interested in all facets of gastroenterology. He is very proud of his family – including his wife, two daughters, and rambunctious puppy.
